I’m Raquel, a 40-year-old single mom, from Portugal, now living in Belgium, where I decided to start over a few years ago. It was around that time that my mindset started shifting. Little by little I found myself questioning the path our lives were following: was it normal to only work, work and work and during the weekends be so tired and frustrated to do anything besides resting and cleaning? Couldn’t I just enjoy life a little bit more?Could I count on being able to afford everything my family needs in the future? And what scared me the most, if all my income was depending on my time, how would I be able to provide for my son, have some extra money and still spend some quality time with him? How would I be able to save or invest so we can have a better tomorrow?
